The Prime Minister made a statement in Downing Street this morning, encouraging everyone to maintain the lockdown measures

The Government has announced the scaling up of mobile testing units that will be operated by the armed forces

The Government pledges support for freight services to protect flow of goods between the UK, mainland Europe and NI, and includes support for routes to the Isle of Wight

There is up-dated guidance for essential workers and employers about arranging a test

The FCO has published up-dated advice for British nationals who are stranded abroad

 

Local

The DfT has committed to fast track the launch of a new trial using drones to carry medical supplies between the mainland and St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight. The project is led by scientists at the University of Southampton which is one of the UK's leading centres for the development of drone technology.

Action Hampshire is producing a weekly newsletter which aims to provide the voluntary and community sector with information and support. Sign up to Important things you need to know right now or read the latest edition online.

A new free helpline has been launched to support people living in Hampshire facing poor mental health and emotional difficulties. Well being experts will be able to signpost people to other services. It is available on - 023 8017 9049 - and is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm.
