National

The Prime Minister introduces the Government's Covid Recovery Strategy and a framework for how changes to the lockdown measures may happen over the next 3 to 4 months. A more detailed FAQs on what you can and can't do is also available

The Government has published advice on how to make and wear a face mask

The Government has also published guidance for employers to help them get their businesses back up and running and workplaces operating safely

The Transport Secretary announced a £2 billion package to support active travel to help the country emerge from crisis

The DWP has launched two new websites - www.jobhelp.dwp.go.uk and www.employerhelp.dwp.gov.uk - to provide support for people looking for current vacancies and advice for employers 

The Government has launched the ‘Pick for Britain’ website in partnership with industry to bring together people who are looking for work on UK farms with recruiters who have roles to fill

 

Local

Hampshire County Council has today (11 May) reopened all 24 HWRCs, for people who cannot store waste safely at home. This is subject to revised opening hours, restrictions on the number of vehicles permitted to access the site at any one time and new parking arrangements. There is also an informative video about the reopening and the new safety measures that are in place.

 

Good to know

The Government has confirmed that there is no evidence of a link between 5G and Covid-19. Such theories have been rejected by scientific experts in the World Health Organisation and Full Fact, a UK-based independent fact checking charity
