Damian Hinds is continuing his opposition of TAG Farnborough’s airspace expansion proposals in light of the publication of Feedback Report Part A.
He has written to the Civil Aviation Authority to reiterate his belief that the consultation process was flawed, and to point out that the current timeline for next steps is significantly longer than initially planned. In response, the CAA has indicated that the process will continue and that the consultation “does not constitute a referendum”.
Damian Hinds said:
“I was disappointed to note in Feedback Report A that the CAA has guided TAG Farnborough to continue with the consultation process which, as I have written to the CAA to state numerous times now, is I believe flawed. No one is saying the consultation is a referendum - I realise that the CAA have to look at multiple aspects. But very many East Hampshire residents could be adversely affected and their views must be heard. I continue to oppose these plans which I believe as currently formulated would be bad from an East Hampshire perspective for the world class gliding at Lasham, for business there, for the tranquility of parts of the National Park and for residents across potentially quite a wide area.”
