Damian has welcomed the latest unemployment numbers published today by the Office for National Statistics. He said:
"UK unemployment is 3.8%, 0.2 %pts lower than a year earlier and wages continue to grow faster than inflation. The unemployment rate isn't available for local areas, but you can make a like-for-like comparison on the adjusted 'claimant count' which comes out quarterly and is also out today - on that measure, East Hampshire is at 1.4%, against a national average of 3.1%."
