Thank you to the Alton Response & Patrol police officers who who hosted PCC Donna Jones and me on Friday, on the night shift around East Hampshire — and thank you to you and your colleagues for all you do to help keep us all safe.
And, confirmation this week that the target to recruit 20,000 police officers since 2019 has been achieved: the total force of 149,500 officers is a record level, 3,500 above the previous peak. Here in Hampshire, Donna Jones - Police Commissioner Hampshire & IOW has well exceeded the local target, with 600 officers added for our county. Crucial in the fight against crime which blights lives.
