Damian was delighted to be invited to Birdworld recently to see how funding from East Hampshire District Council has been used to improve accessibility at the park. Two new walkways have been created, which are both wheelchair and buggy friendly, giving access to new enclosures for the wading birds and 'flamboyant' flamingos. Tactile bird footprints have been crafted by Farnham Pottery and are dotted around the waders' enclosure - allowing visitors to get even closer to the feathered residents.
The funding was granted by EHDC's 'Grow Up!' rural grant scheme.
