Visit to the Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre

Went on a fantastic visit to the Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre in Bordon today to meet Rob Allerston (director) and Eric Clifford (chairman). We discussed future plans for the centre following the recent Arts Council funding, as well as the broad programme of events they host for the local community. Seeing the Chancellor’s team line up with her on Downing Street reminded me of my own spell as a junior minister at the Treasury, at the Budget and Autumn Statement.My role at that time was focussed on areas such as alcohol and gambling duties, and energy policy.
