Damian took part in an EU Referendum debate last night at St Peter's Church in Petersfield, hosted by the Petersfield Post.
Chaired by the BBC South's Peter Henley, the panel included Damian and William Vine (Hampshire European Movement) for Remain, and Peter Bailiie (UKIP) and Malcolm Bint (Hampshire Grassroots Out) for Leave.
Attended by more than 150 people, the debate covered the key areas of the economy, immigration, the environment as well as sovereignty, with the audience contributing points to support both sides of the debate.
Damian said:
"I really enjoyed the debate and felt there was a good exchange of views across the panel and from the audience. For me, it all starts with the economy and the risk we would be taking with our current growth and stability if we vote to leave the EU. It is our strong economy that delivers the revenue and funds we need for public services, protects our jobs and provides the opportunites for the next generation. The EU is certainly not perfect, but I believe we will be stronger, safer and better off remaining part of the European Union."
