Damian welcomed news that crime has fallen by 8 per cent year-on-year and by 11% within Hampshire.

These latest figure mean that overall crime has fallen by more than a quarter (30 percent) since 2010, according to the Independent Crime Survey for England and Wales.

Commenting, Damian said:

“Above all else this is testament to the exceptional dedication of our local police who put themselves in harm's way to keep the rest of us safe.

"But every crime has a victim and we must never be complacent about falling crime and all continue to work with the police in the invaluable work that they do - on education, prevention, disrupting and apprehending criminals."
