Damian visited Lasham Gliding Club last week to meet Scott Redmond, who rents a moped through the Wheels to Work Hampshire scheme to get to his apprenticeship job at the Golden Glider cafe.
Funded by Hampshire County Council and East Hampshire District Council, this scheme is open to anyone over 16 in East Hampshire to help them get to employment opportunities or vocational training. For between £17 to £20 per week, the scheme provides a fully taxed, insured and maintained 50 cc or 125cc bike, mandatory Compulsory Basic Training, a helmet, gloves and hi viz waistcoat, and servicing through local garages.
