National

The Chancellor announced a new £1.25 billion coronavirus package to protect innovation in UK. Basingstoke and Guildford/Aldershot are among 16 UK towns identified by TechNation as “Digital Suburbs”

local authorities in England are to receive a further non ring-fenced £1.6 billion to help them to deal with the immediate impacts of coronavirus. 

Vulnerable and disadvantaged young people will receive free laptops and tablets to help make remote education accessible.

Public Health England has issued further guidance for those managing or organising funerals during the pandemic.

Paul Deighton, London 2012 Olympics Chief Executive, has been appointed to coordinate the end-to-end process of design through to manufacture of PPE 

 

Local

Volunteers who have offered or registered their support will be contacted by local authorities when needed, and there is volunteering guidance to help ensure those serving do take steps to look after their own health and well being
