National

The Government announced that employers of essential workers will be able to request a test for employees from today

DHSC and the Office for National Statistics have started a major long-term study, involving up to 300,000 people over the next 12 months, which will track the spread of coronavirus in the general population

A new adult social care recruitment campaign has been launched, called ‘Care for others. Make a difference’.

The Home Office has issued new guidance on the support available to people who do not currently have permission to live permanently in the UK.

The Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden, has launched a new campaign to tackle loneliness and social isolation.

 

Local

Patients in hospital have a new way to hear from their loved ones, as Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launches a patient messaging service to support patients, their family and friends during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Hampshire Chamber of Commerce is organising a series of free live ‘question- time’ events to support local businesses - information is available on their events webpage.

 

Good to Know

Our Frontline launched this week, which is a partnership between Shout, Samaritans, Mind, Hospice UK and The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, offering one-to-one support, by call or text, from trained volunteers.
