Damian visited several recently opened shops in Alton town center on Saturday 5th December, in support of Small Business Saturday; a national initiative to raise the profile and support for small enterprises across the country.
The visits included the Hampshire Home Company, a new furniture and home accessories business, a new florists called Bows & Bouquets, ladies clothes retailer Katy Mae, the recently expanded milliners Hat Tricks, a new chocolate shop called Sweet Chocolate and home accessories business Little Vintage Interiors.
Damian said:
“Seeing new shops open around the town centre is fantastic and it’s been great to get out and support Small Business Saturday, meeting business owners and hearing about their plans.
I think Alton offers enormous potential for retailers and it bodes well for the future that so many ventures are starting life in and around the high street.
I was also delighted to hear about the funding for a Business Development Manager and I would like to commend both Alton Town Council and East Hampshire District Council for working together to make this happen. I am sure the role has the potential to make a big difference for the town.”
