A new acute hospital for North Hampshire is coming which will serve residents in Alton, Four Marks, Medstead, the Candovers and surrounding areas.
Buildings at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester are also set to be upgraded. Together, these represent a £700m+ investment.
A brand new £58m Accident & Emergency Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham is already under construction. This new facility will be of particular benefit to residents of Clanfield, Horndean, Rowlands Castle, Petersfield, Liss and around.
We’ve changed pension rules to help keep senior GPs in the profession, and across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, there are many more GPs in training than five years ago. Our Primary Care Plan is aimed at reducing GPs having to do things that non-GPs can do. The aim to recruit 26,000 additional primary care professionals nationally – from paramedics to occupational therapists – was achieved a year ahead of the March 2024 deadline.
