Today Damian caught up with Rebecca Dalley, the chief executive of Hampshire’s brilliant heritage railway, the Watercress Line, to talk about the preparations for next year’s 200th anniversary of the modern railway. They were joined by Phil Dominey from SWR (pictured above with Damian and Rebecca) who updated Damian on the work they’ve been doing across the region to promote the Watercress Line and some of the planned improvements at stations across the patch.
Later on the same day, Damian was in Southampton to pre-record the BBC's Sunday Politics South programme He was joined by new MPs Tom Hayes (Labour) and Zoe Franklin (Lib Dem) - pictured above with Damian and host Peter Henley. Among other subjects discussed was disability accessibility and they were showcasing the excellent ‘Let Me In’ programme run by Treloar’s School in Alton; the particular assessment carried out by the students that they highlighted on the programme was… The Watercress Line.
