On Saturday (29th July) I joined Barbara and Chris from Cycle Alton and Ben from Treloar's college to cycle their proposed 'safe cycle route' in Alton for senior school children (and anyone else on a bike, buggy or in a wheelchair!).
The Cycle Alton team has given a lot of thought about where the route might go, looking at where it might intersect with schools and colleges, the train station and housing estates. Although at a very early stage, there is a lot to recommend these proposals, which could encourage more people to cycle to school or work or into town. There are many conversations to be had to see if this is feasible and I'm looking forward to lending my support where I can.
